A 48-year-old Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee died by suicide on June 2, 2026 . The man, identified as Amit Abhay Bramhe, left a note. His 19-year-old son filed a police complaint on June 9, 2026 . The complaint names two colleagues and one other individual. Police are investigating charges of abetment of suicide.
FIR Alleges Harassment
The First Information Report (FIR) names two TCS employees, Archana and Shashwati. It also names Vinod Palicha, who is not affiliated with TCS. All three face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of suicide. Police inspector Sandip Ghorpade confirmed the investigation. TCS has been notified to examine the roles of its employees.
The FIR states Palicha filed false complaints against Bramhe. These allegedly included cheating and theft charges. Palicha also reportedly sent Bramhe a legal notice. Emails detailing complaints were sent to TCS.
Workplace Allegations
Archana and Shashwati reportedly worked with Bramhe on the DEG project at TCS. The FIR alleges they insulted Bramhe before coworkers. They also allegedly assigned him unfamiliar tasks. Threats of negative performance feedback were also mentioned.
These claims are now part of the official police investigation. The company expressed condolences for Bramhe's death. TCS stated employee well-being is a priority. The company is providing support to Bramhe's family.
