The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has confirmed that the SSC Selection Post Phase-13 exam 2024 will not be cancelled, despite serious issues while the exam was taking place. The SSC Exam took place from 24 July to 1 August, at 194 centres in 142 cities, with nearly 5 lakh candidates appearing for the exam. Candidates have reported significant issues, including the crashing of servers, failures to correctly verify biometrics, sending multiple people to the same exam location, cancelling exams at the last minute, and incorrect allotment to an exam centre.
Because of the magnitude of the disruption candidates protested in various locations and flooded social media with complaints. In response to all of this, SSC Chairmen S. Gopalakrishnan stated that he had been made aware of the disruption and provided that SSC is willing to look at all complaints while reviewing system logs to find the potential affected candidates. Though he said that the commission will not cancel the exam, he confirmed that a "retake" will occur for candidates that were affected.
The entity that conducted the exam, Eduquity Career Technologies, is being reviewed, and SSC indicated that it would take action against them (financial penalties) due to failure to execute. SSC stated that it would not cancel the contract for practical reasons.) SSC to all candidates has indicated it is taking steps to ensure fairness and accountability was delivered against the candidate's expectation.
