The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is getting ready to hold the Medical Exam for GD Constables in **October 2025**. This exam is a very important step for all candidates who have passed the earlier physical tests. Along with the medical check, a Document Verification (DV) round will also take place. During DV, all your important papers will be checked.

Candidates who qualified in the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) are eligible for these next rounds. Training for candidates who are finally selected will begin in **January 2026** and will continue until **December 2026**.

What is the SSC GD Recruitment Process?

The SSC GD Constable recruitment process is for selecting candidates for various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). This includes forces like CISF, BSF, CRPF, and others. The process has several steps to make sure only the fittest and most qualified candidates are chosen.

Steps Completed So Far:

  • Written Exam: Candidates first took a written exam.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): These rounds were held from **August to September 2025**. During these tests, candidates had to meet certain height, chest, and weight requirements (PST) and pass running tests (PET). These tests were conducted at different CAPF centres across the country. Only candidates who passed these physical tests can move to the next stage.

Understanding the Medical Exam (DME) and Document Verification (DV)

After the physical tests, the next crucial steps are the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification (DV).

  • Detailed Medical Examination (DME): In this exam, doctors will check your general health and fitness. They will look for any medical conditions that might stop you from performing the duties of a Constable. This includes checking your eyes, ears, and overall physical condition. It is important to be medically fit for these jobs.

  • Document Verification (DV): During this round, all your original documents will be checked against the information you provided in your application form. It is very important that all your documents are correct and match your application. If any document is missing or incorrect, you might not be allowed to proceed further.

When Will the Medical Exam Happen?

The SSC GD medical exam is expected to be conducted by **mid-October 2025**. The exact dates and schedule will be released soon on the official SSC website. Candidates must regularly check the website for the latest announcements.

Training Schedule

The training schedule for the selected male and female candidates has already been released. Training for SSC GD Constables in 2025 will start in **January 2026** and will go on until **December 2026**. This means that once you clear all rounds, you will join your respective forces for training for about one year.

When you go for your medical exam and document verification, you must carry all the necessary documents. It is important to have both original documents and photocopies. Here is a list of documents you will need:
