The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is soon expected to announce the results for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam 2025. Students who appeared for this important government job exam should regularly check the official website, ssc.gov.in, for updates. The Tier 1 examination was held from November 12 to 30, 2025, and candidates are now waiting to know if they have qualified for the next stage.

The SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam is a national test for students who have passed Class 12. It helps fill various Group C government jobs in different ministries and departments across India. These jobs include positions like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretarial Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Data Entry Operator (DEO), and DEO (Grade A).

How to Check Your SSC CHSL Tier 1 Result 2025

Once the Staff Selection Commission declares the results, you can easily check them online. Follow these simple steps:

  • Go to the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
  • On the homepage, click on the 'Result' tab, usually found at the top of the page.
  • You will see different exam categories. Click on the link for 'SSC CHSL Exam'.
  • Look for the specific result link for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 (2025 exam) for your post and download the PDF file.
  • Open the downloaded PDF. It will contain a list of qualified candidates. Search for your roll number or name in this list.
  • Save this result PDF on your computer or phone for future reference.

The result PDF will show the roll numbers and names of all candidates who have successfully cleared the Tier 1 exam and are eligible for Tier 2.

Understanding Cutoff Marks and Merit List

The Staff Selection Commission will release cutoff marks along with the results. Cutoff marks are the minimum scores a candidate must achieve to pass Tier 1 and move to the next stage.

These cutoff marks will vary based on the specific job post and different categories of students (such as General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). The SSC creates a merit list based on these cutoff scores. Only candidates who meet or exceed the cutoff marks will be included in the merit list and considered qualified.

It is important to note that the marks you score in Tier 1 will not be counted in your final selection score. Tier 1 is a qualifying exam, meaning it only decides if you can appear for Tier 2.

What Happens After the Tier 1 Result? (Tier 2 Exam)

Candidates who successfully clear the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam will proceed to the Tier 2 examination. The Tier 2 exam for the 2025 cycle is expected to take place in February or March 2026.

The Tier 2 exam is divided into two main sessions:

Session 1: Written Exam (Objective Type)

  • This session consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • It tests candidates on subjects like Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning and General Intelligence, English Language and Comprehension, and General Awareness.

Session 2: Skill/Typing Test

  • This test is crucial for specific roles like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretarial Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO).
  • Candidates will be assessed on their typing speed and data entry skills, depending on the post they applied for.

Please remember that once an exam center is allotted for Tier 2, it typically cannot be changed.

Based on previous years, a large number of candidates qualify for Tier 2. For instance, in the 2024 exam, over 41,000 candidates were shortlisted from Tier 1 for the Tier 2 stage. This included approximately 39,835 candidates for LDC/JSA posts and 1,630 candidates for DEO roles.
