The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the answer key for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) Tier 1 Exam 2025 today. Students who appeared for the exam can now download their answer key and their response sheet from the official website, ssc.gov.in . The SSC has also given students a chance to raise objections if they find any answer to be incorrect. The last date to raise objections is December 11 . This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 3,131 Group C government posts .

About the SSC CHSL Exam

The SSC CHSL exam is a national-level test conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. Its full name is the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination. This exam helps find suitable candidates for various government jobs in Group C category. These jobs include positions like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

For the 2025 recruitment year, 3,131 vacancies are available across different government departments and ministries. The Tier 1 exam is the first stage of the selection process. It is a computer-based test that checks a candidate's general awareness, reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, and English language skills.

Why the Answer Key Matters

The answer key is a very important tool for students. It contains the correct answers to all the questions asked in the Tier 1 exam. By comparing their marked answers with the official key, students can do the following:

  • **Estimate Scores:** Students can get an idea of their probable score before the official results are declared. This helps them understand their performance.
  • **Check for Errors:** The answer key first released is a 'provisional' key. This means it is temporary. Students can check for any mistakes in the official answers.
  • **Prepare for Next Stage:** Knowing their estimated score helps students decide if they are likely to qualify for the next stage (Tier 2) and start preparing early.

How to Download Your Answer Key and Response Sheet

Follow these simple steps to download your SSC CHSL Tier 1 Answer Key and response sheet:

  • Go to the official website of the Staff Selection Commission: ssc.gov.in
  • Find the section for 'Answer Key' or 'Candidate's Login'.
  • Click on the link for SSC CHSL Tier 1 Answer Key 2025.
  • You will need to enter your exam Roll Number and Password to log in.
  • Once logged in, your answer key and your individual response sheet (showing the answers you marked) will appear on the screen.
  • Review the information carefully.
  • Download the PDF file to your computer or phone. It is good to save it for future reference.

How to Raise Objections to the Answer Key

The SSC allows students to challenge any answer they believe is wrong in the provisional answer key. This process is called raising an objection.

  • The last date to raise objections is December 11 . No objections will be accepted after this date.
  • For each question that a student wishes to challenge, a fee of INR 50 must be paid.
  • To raise an objection, after logging in and viewing your answer key, you will find a link to 'Raise Objections'.
  • You must clearly state which question you are challenging and provide proper evidence or a reason for your claim.
  • After submitting your objection and paying the fee, the SSC will review it.

If the Staff Selection Commission finds an objection to be correct, they will make changes to the answer key. A 'final' answer key will then be released, which cannot be challenged further.

Calculating Your Scores

Students can use the provisional answer key to calculate their estimated scores. This helps them understand their performance.

The marking scheme for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is as follows:

For each correct answer 2 marks awarded
For each incorrect answer 0.5 marks deducted
For unanswered questions 0 marks (no deduction)

To calculate your score, first count the total number of correct answers you marked. Multiply this number by 2. Then, count the total number of incorrect answers you marked. Multiply this number by 0.5. Subtract the total marks deducted (from incorrect answers) from the total marks gained (from correct answers). This will give you your estimated score.

What Happens Next?

After considering all the objections and releasing the final answer key, the Staff Selection Commission will announce the results for the Tier 1 exam. Students who clear the Tier 1 exam will then be eligible to appear for the Tier 2 examination. Tier 2 is the next stage in the selection process, which might involve a descriptive writing test or a skill test, depending on the specific government post.

It is important for all students to keep a copy of their downloaded answer key and response sheet. These documents are useful for future reference and for understanding your performance when the final results are announced.
