The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam for 2025 was conducted across India from September 12 to 26, 2025 . The exam took place at 255 centres in 126 different cities. A large number of students participated: out of 28 lakh candidates who registered, more than 13.5 lakh appeared for the exam.

A special re-exam was also held on October 14, 2025 . This was for candidates who faced technical problems or issues at certain exam centres during their original Tier 1 exam. This step ensured that all affected students got a fair chance to take the test.

Answer Keys and Objections

Soon after the exams, the provisional answer keys and individual response sheets were uploaded online on October 17, 2025 . Candidates had a short window to review these and raise any objections to the questions or answers they found incorrect. This objection period closed on October 19, 2025 . The SSC received a significant number of objections — close to 1,000 in total. These objections covered over 4,500 questions from the 45 different question papers used across the 45 exam shifts.

Processing the Results

Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan explained that the SSC team needs to carefully review every single objection raised by the candidates. With 45 different exam shifts and an equal number of unique question papers, checking roughly 4,500 questions takes a lot of time and effort.
