Scholarship Details
The University of Sheffield offers a £7,000 tuition fee reduction. This award applies to full-time taught postgraduate degrees. Indian students are among those eligible. No separate application is needed. The scholarship is automatically applied if eligibility criteria are met.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have an offer for a full-time taught postgraduate degree. They must have resided in an eligible country for the past three years. Eligible countries include India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkiye, and Vietnam.
Students must accept their University of Sheffield offer by 4 PM UK time on July 6, 2027 . They must be classified as overseas students for fee purposes. Students must self-fund their studies. External sponsorship disqualifies applicants.
Exclusions from Scholarship
Certain courses are not eligible for the scholarship. These include postgraduate diplomas and certificates. Online and distance learning courses are also excluded. Crossways and Erasmus Mundus courses do not qualify.
Important Guidelines
The £7,000 scholarship can often combine with other University of Sheffield scholarships. It cannot be combined with other discounts or outside funding. Repayable loans are an exception and do not count as outside sponsorship.
Students must complete their entire eligible course at the University of Sheffield. Students from the University of Sheffield International College can also apply.
For students on a two-year Master's degree, the £7,000 will be applied in the second year. Students must successfully complete their first year. The scholarship cannot be deferred to a later academic year. Postponing entry will void the award. The university will not backdate the scholarship. Students are responsible for ensuring timely confirmation of funding.
