Seoul has once again been named the World’s Best Student City. The South Korean capital achieved a perfect overall score of 100 in the QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2027 . This marks the second consecutive year Seoul has held the top position.
Global Rankings Revealed
The rankings, released by higher education analytics firm Quacquarelli Symonds, assess cities based on factors including university strength, student feedback, and affordability. Tokyo retained its second place, while London secured third. Melbourne and Sydney also saw improvements, entering the top five.
Ben Sowter, Senior President at QS, stated that Seoul’s repeat perfect score reflects sustained investment in higher education. He noted this achievement in a field of 150 cities highlights a durable strength.

Indian Cities Show Improvement
In India, Mumbai ranked highest among student destinations, securing 91st place globally. The city showed significant improvement, particularly in employer activity and affordability scores. Delhi entered the top 100 at 99th position.
Delhi was also recognized as the most affordable city for students. The average annual international tuition fee in Delhi is $2,700 USD. This affordability contributed to its high ranking.
