Seoul has been named the World’s Best Student City for 2027 . The South Korean capital achieved a perfect overall score of 100. This marks the second consecutive year Seoul has held the top position.
The ranking assesses cities on factors like university strength, student feedback, affordability, and employer demand. Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President at Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), stated Seoul’s repeat success reflects sustained investment in higher education. He noted achieving a perfect score twice demonstrates durable city-wide commitment.
Global Rankings Highlight Asian Cities
Tokyo maintained its second-place ranking. London secured third place in the 2027 QS Best Student Cities ranking. Melbourne and Sydney, both Australian cities, also entered the top five, showing improved standings.
The ranking included 150 cities worldwide. Asian cities continue to gain prominence in higher education. Seoul and Tokyo have occupied the top two spots for two years.

Indian Cities Show Improvement
Mumbai ranked highest among Indian cities. It placed 91st globally. The city showed improvement in employer activity and affordability.
Delhi entered the top 100, ranking 99th. It was recognized as the most affordable city for students. The average annual international tuition fee in Delhi is USD 2,700.
