The RRB NTPC Selection Process Explained

The selection process for RRB NTPC UG jobs has several steps. Each step helps the Railway Recruitment Board find suitable candidates for the available positions.

First, candidates took the Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT 1) . Only those who passed CBT 1 are allowed to sit for CBT 2 , which is the next stage of the computer-based exam. This second test is held at different locations across India to assess candidates' knowledge and abilities further.

After passing CBT 2, candidates will face other tests based on the job they chose. For some posts, there will be a Typing Skill Test (TST) . This test checks how fast and accurately you can type, which is important for clerical roles. For other specific posts, candidates will take a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) . This test checks their problem-solving skills, memory, and ability to make quick decisions, which are important for operational roles.

The final steps include Document Verification . Here, railway officials check all your original educational certificates, caste certificates, and other important documents to ensure everything is correct and matches your application. After this, a Medical Examination is conducted to ensure candidates are physically fit for the job roles in the railways, as railway jobs often require good health and stamina.

Candidates who have qualified for CBT 2 should now focus on preparing well for the exam on December 20, 2025 . They must also keep an eye on the official RRB website for their exam city slip and admit card release dates.
