The RIE CEE 2026 is an 80-question multiple-choice test. It is administered over 120 minutes, or two hours. Each correct answer earns two marks. Incorrect answers result in a deduction of 0.5 marks. The total possible score is 160 marks.

Selection Criteria
Passing the CBT is the first step in admission. Final selection depends on a combined merit score. This uses a 60:40 selection formula. 60% of the score comes from the RIE CEE exam. The remaining 40% is from qualifying examination marks. For Level 1 courses, this is the Class 12 aggregate. For Level 2, it is the graduation aggregate.
Expected Qualifying Marks
NCERT has not specified exact cut-off marks. However, based on past trends, candidates can aim for the following scores out of 160:
- General Category: 50-55+ marks. A score of 85+ is advisable for competitive courses.
- OBC Category: 45-50+ marks.
- SC / ST Category: 35-45+ marks.
These marks are targets for initial shortlisting for the counseling process.
