Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

To apply for the RBI Office Attendant posts, candidates must meet certain conditions. These conditions cover nationality, age, education, and language skills. Make sure you meet all these points before filling out the form.

1. Nationality

  • You must be an Indian citizen .
  • People from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962 , with the aim of settling permanently in India, can also apply.
  • People of Indian origin who moved from countries like Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia), and Vietnam with the intention of settling permanently in India, are also eligible.

2. Age Limit

  • Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old .
  • This means you should have been born no earlier than January 2, 2001 , and no later than January 1, 2008 (both dates are included).
  • There will be age relaxation for candidates from certain categories. This means older candidates from these categories can also apply.

3. Educational Qualification

  • You must have passed Class 10 (SSC/Matriculation) . This qualification should be from a board in the State/Union Territory where the RBI office you are applying to is located.
  • An important rule: You must be an undergraduate as on January 1, 2026 . This means you should not have completed your graduation by this date.
  • Graduates and candidates with higher qualifications (like a Bachelor's degree or above) are NOT allowed to apply for these posts. This rule is very specific.

4. For Ex-Servicemen

  • Ex-servicemen candidates must have passed Class 10 (SSC/Matriculation) .
  • They must have served in the defence forces for at least 15 years .
  • This rule applies only if they have not completed their graduation outside of their Armed Forces service.

5. Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must be good at the local language of the State/Union Territory where they apply.
  • Being proficient means you should be able to read, write, speak, and understand that particular local language well. This skill will be tested during the selection process.

The application process for the RBI Office Attendant posts is online. Candidates need to visit the official RBI website to fill out the application form. The online application link will be active from January 15, 2026 , until February 4, 2026 . You also need to pay the application fee online within these dates.

Selection Process
