Rajasthan has launched a statewide inspection of all government school buildings. The initiative aims to identify and close unsafe structures. The directive was issued on Tuesday. Officials stated that any building found unsafe will be immediately closed and barricaded.
Safety Inspection Mandated
The decision followed a high-level review meeting. Additional Chief Secretary (School Education) Rajesh Kumar Yadav chaired the meeting. Senior officials, including State Project Director Rashmi Sharma, attended. The inspection will cover all government school buildings statewide.
Immediate Action on Unsafe Buildings
Rajesh Kumar Yadav emphasized student safety. He stated that unsafe buildings or classrooms will be shut down. These structures will be barricaded. Detailed status reports must be submitted for each case. Yadav stressed that student safety is paramount. He declared that no compromise would be tolerated.
Repair and Construction Oversight
The meeting also reviewed ongoing repair and construction projects. Officials received instructions to complete these projects on time. Quality standards must be maintained. Yadav confirmed that financial approvals are in place. Adequate funds have been allocated for these projects.
Future Development Plans
The state government has planned further development. Projects worth ₹500 crore are scheduled for 2026-27. Over 2,000 school development projects were completed in 2025-26. The government plans to enhance basic infrastructure. Additional resources will be sought. These include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. Public contributions will also be mobilized. Other funding sources are being explored.
