Annual Ranking Framework
The new framework will evaluate and grade the performance of these institutions each year. This comes after an official order from the Ministry.

The primary goals are to improve police training infrastructure and upgrade training standards. It also seeks to ensure consistent quality in forensic investigations and training processes nationwide.
The Ministry also intends to boost morale within police training institutes. It hopes to foster healthy competition to drive improvements in training methodologies.
Implementation Details
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been issued to all states, union territories, and central police forces. The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) will manage the nomination process.
Timeline and Application Process
Institutions can submit nominations for ranking by April 1 each year. Eligible police training institutions and forensic labs have until April 15 to submit their applications in the prescribed format.
Ranking and Awards
Rankings will be determined annually. The results are scheduled for announcement in August .
The top three ranked institutes in each category will receive certificates. These categories include state/UT police training institutes and CAPFs/CPOs institutes.
A list of the rankings and the marks obtained by each institution will be published on the official website.
