Steps for Round 1 Counselling
The counselling begins with the provisional seat list on November 20, 2025 . This list shows available seats. Students should check it carefully. Any issues can be reported on the same day until 11:59 PM . The final seat list will be out on November 21, 2025 .
Choice Filling and Locking
From November 23 to November 25, 2025 , eligible students must choose and rank their preferred colleges and courses. After making choices, students must "lock" them. If not locked, the last saved choices will be automatically saved. Submit choices within this time to be considered for a seat.
Seat Allotment and College Reporting
The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on November 27, 2025 . Students can check this online. If a seat is allotted, they can download their provisional allotment letter from November 28, 2025 . This letter confirms their temporary admission.
Students must report to their assigned medical college between November 29 and November 30, 2025 . Here, they complete admission steps like document checks and fee payment. This step is mandatory to confirm their seat.
Seat Upgradation
Students can apply to upgrade their allotted seat. The result for Round 1 seat upgradation will be released on December 1, 2025 . Students who get an upgraded seat must report to the new college on December 2, 2025 for admission.
New PG Medical Seats in Odisha
Odisha state recently approved 62 new postgraduate medical seats . These additional seats are across six government medical colleges in the state, increasing training options for students.
The 372 MD and MS seats for this counselling round are divided as follows:
- 163 seats for in-service candidates (doctors working with the government).
- 161 seats for direct candidates (general applicants).
- 84 seats under the management quota.
