SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is starting its MBA admission process for the year 2026 . Students who took the NMAT exam can apply. NMIMS will use NMAT scores to select candidates for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. The exam body, GMAC, has already finished all NMAT 2025 exam slots.

NMIMS is a popular choice for many students taking the NMAT exam. Over 50 colleges across India accept NMAT scores, but NMIMS is a top target for most. The institute will soon announce important dates for the next steps in the admission process on its official website, nmat.nmims.edu .

Expected NMAT Cutoff for NMIMS MBA 2026

For the upcoming 2026 admissions, NMIMS expects the NMAT cutoff score to be around what it was last year. In the previous admission cycle, the NMAT cutoff for NMIMS was 209 marks overall. Students also needed a minimum of 62 marks in each of the three sections of the NMAT exam. This cutoff was the same for all NMIMS campuses. Before that, the cutoff was usually higher, often more than 225 marks , and different for each campus.

NMIMS changed its selection method in the last admission cycle. It moved from giving a very high importance to NMAT scores alone to including a 'competency test'. This test checks a candidate's skills and abilities. This year, the NMAT cutoff is expected to stay similar to 209 marks . If it changes, it is not likely to go above 215 marks . These scores are used to shortlist students for the Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and the competency test rounds.

NMIMS MBA 2026 Selection Criteria

The NMAT score is only one part of the overall selection process for an MBA at NMIMS. The institute looks at several factors to choose the best students. Here is how NMIMS typically weighted different parts of the selection process in the past:

Component of Selection ProcessWeightage
NMAT scores 20%
Competency assessment (special test) 50%
Personal interview 10%
Work experience 10%
Academic record (HSC) 5%
Academic record (Graduation) 5%
Total 100%

As you can see from the table, the 'competency assessment' test holds the most weight, at 50% , in deciding who gets admitted. NMAT scores contribute 20% . This shows that NMIMS wants to evaluate candidates beyond just their exam scores. Performance in the personal interview, any past work experience, and marks from your 12th standard (HSC) and college graduation also matter. For graduation, NMIMS considers your marks up to the pre-final year, converted into a percentage.

It is important to remember that this selection process, including the weightage for each component, is based on the previous year's admissions. NMIMS may change these details for the 2026 admission cycle. Students should always check the official NMIMS website, nmims.edu , for the most accurate and latest information.

Next Steps for NMIMS MBA 2026 Admission

NMIMS is expected to announce the dates for the second stage of the MBA admission process 2026 very soon. Keep an eye on their official website for these updates.
