The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) will hold the NMAT 2025 exam from November 5 to December 19, 2025 . This exam is for students aiming to get into MBA programs. Students who applied for the NMAT exam could choose their preferred test day within this period.
The NMAT exam has a different structure and pattern compared to other MBA entrance tests. Because of this, students need a special way to prepare for it. Many applicants are now in the last phase of their NMAT preparation. Knowing the most important topics and some study tips will help them score better on the exam day.
Important Topics for NMAT 2025
Quantitative Skills
The Quantitative Aptitude section of NMAT is getting harder each year. However, students generally find it easier than the Quantitative section of the CAT exam. Out of **36 questions** in this section, **12 to 15 questions** are from Data Interpretation (DI). These DI questions take time to solve and require a lot of calculations. Students who are strong in topics like **Percentage**, **Ratio**, and **Averages** will find the DI part easier.
- **Geometry** usually has **2 to 3 questions** every year.
 - **Arithmetic** is more important than Algebra in the NMAT exam.
 - Topics like **Permutation & Combinations**, **Probability**, and Modern Math carry more marks in this section.

Language Skills
This section is different from the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section of the CAT exam. Most marks in Language Skills come from the following areas:
- **Vocabulary**
 - **Sentence Correction**
 - **Idioms and Phrases**

Students can use the book 'Word Power Made Easy' to prepare for a large part of this section. Questions on **Analogies** appear in every NMAT exam. **Reading Comprehension** is also important, as it includes more than one question.
Logical Reasoning
In the Logical Reasoning section of NMAT, **15 to 18 questions** are from Critical Reasoning. Students will find questions related to Statement and Assumption. Every year, set-based questions appear from **Input-Output** and **Seating Arrangement**.
- Topics like **Clocks**, **Cubes**, and **Calendars** are important in NMAT. These are not part of the CAT exam syllabus but can help with SNAP exam preparation.
 - Questions on **Blood Relations** are also included in the NMAT exam every year.

Note: These important topics are based on the analysis of past NMAT exams. The actual topics in the upcoming exam session might change.
