The registration deadline for the National Institute of Fashion and Technology (NIFT) Spot Round Counselling is today, July 22, 2026 . Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs must complete their registration online before midnight.
New applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 5000 for the spot round. Document verification for these new candidates and those applying for NRI sponsored seats must also be completed by midnight today.

Eligibility for NIFT 2026 Spot Round
Candidates eligible for the spot round include those with a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR). This encompasses students who did not secure a seat in previous rounds. Applicants who received a seat earlier but did not pay the admission fee are also eligible. Candidates who previously cancelled or withdrew their allotted seat can also register.
Individuals with a valid CMR who did not complete earlier registration steps, such as choice filling or document upload, can participate. Those applying through the NLEA with a valid CMR are also included.
Who Cannot Register for the Spot Round
Certain candidates are excluded from the NIFT 2026 Spot Round. This includes students whose documents were rejected due to eligibility issues. Applicants lacking a valid category certificate, if claiming a reserved category, are ineligible.
Candidates applying under the Artisan category are not permitted. Pure NRI candidates admitted via SAT, GMAT, or GRE scores also cannot register for this spot round.
NIFT will release the seat allotment results on July 24, 2026 . Physical reporting at the allotted NIFT campus is mandatory by July 29, 2026 .
