NIFT 2026 Spot Counselling: Registration Open Until July 22

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has opened registration for its 2026 Spot Counselling round. Candidates with a Common Merit Rank (CMR) can apply for remaining undergraduate and postgraduate seats. The registration window closes at midnight on July 22, 2026 .

Spot Counselling Details

Interested candidates must have a valid CMR. This round is for those who did not secure a seat in previous rounds, withdrew an allotted seat, or did not register or complete their application previously. New candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹5,000 to register.

Document verification for new registrants is also due by July 22, 2026 , with a deadline of 6:00 PM on that day. This applies to all eligible candidates, including NRI applicants.

Key Dates and Actions

The spot counselling process involves several deadlines. Candidates must complete their choice filling and lock their preferred campus by midnight on July 23, 2026 . Seat allotment results will be announced on July 24, 2026 .

Admissions for allotted seats require payment of the admission fee between July 24, 2026 , and July 27, 2026 . Successful candidates must then report physically to their allotted campus by July 29, 2026 .

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for the NIFT 2026 Spot Round includes having a Common Merit Rank (CMR) and meeting the criteria for previous rounds. Candidates previously rejected during document verification for not meeting eligibility or lacking valid documents are ineligible.

Additionally, candidates admitted under the Artisan Category or pure NRI candidates admitted via SAT, GMAT, or GRE scores cannot register for this spot round.
