The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) has announced important dates for students taking theCHMT-O Level examinationsin theJanuary 2026 cycle. Students must submit their online application forms within the given timeframe.
The application window for the Online Examination Application Form (OEAF) is fromNovember 26, 2025, toDecember 8, 2025. All registered candidates for the CHMT-O Level exams must complete and submit their forms online before the deadline.

How to Apply for the Exams
Students must follow these steps to apply for the CHMT-O Level examinations:
- The application form, called the Online Examination Application Form (OEAF), must be filled out and submittedonly online.
- Along with the form, students need to pay the required fees. Payment must be made throughElectronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
- FromJanuary 2025onwards, there is an application processing fee ofRs. 100for the CHMT-O Level exams. This fee must be paid when submitting the OEAF.
- Students who already have a NIELIT account should use their existingUser ID and Passwordto log in and fill out the form.
- If you need help filling the form or making payments, you can visit aCommon Service Centre (CSC). You can find CSC locations on their official website:https://csc.gov.in/.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Choosing Your Exam Centre:When you fill out the application form, you will need to choose your preferred examination centre. It is very important to choose carefully, as NIELIT will not accept any requests to change the exam centre later.
- Exam Type:The theory examinations for CHMT-O modules and Employability Skills will be conductedonline.
- Practical Exams:The practical examinations will be heldofflineat specific exam centres. This means you will need to go to a physical location for your practical tests.
Information for Institutes
Institutes that have enrolled students for the CHMT-O Level examinations also have a role:
- Institutes must check and confirm the Online Examination Application Forms (OEAFs) that their students submit through them.
- After verifying the forms, institutes must also pay the examination fees using the NIELIT portal. The last date for institutes to complete this process isDecember 11, 2025.
