The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the online window for NEET UG Round 3 choice filling today, October 16, 2025 , at 4 PM . Students who want to get admission into MBBS and BDS courses must log in to the MCC portal to select their preferred colleges and courses before this deadline.

Initially, the choice filling window was set to close earlier. However, the MCC decided to extend the deadline. This extension happened because new seats were added in various medical and dental colleges across India. This change provides more opportunities for students seeking admission.

Only candidates who have already registered on the MCC portal are allowed to fill out their choices for courses and colleges. This step is important for seat allotment in the third round of counselling for the NEET UG 2025 academic year.

How to Fill Choices for NEET UG Round 3

Candidates must follow a clear process to fill their choices online. This process ensures that their selections are recorded correctly for seat allocation. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Visit the Official Website: Go to the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee at mcc.nic.in . This is the main portal for all NEET UG counselling activities.
  • Find the Link: Look for the 'Choice Filling Link' on the homepage of the MCC website. This link will direct you to the choice filling portal.
  • Log In: Candidates need to log in using their personal details. This includes their NEET roll number, password, and a security pin. Make sure to enter these details correctly to access your account.
  • Review Seat Matrix: Before making any selections, students should check the college-wise seat matrix. This shows how many seats are available in each college for different courses and categories. Understanding the seat matrix helps in making informed decisions.
  • Select Colleges and Courses: Carefully go through the list of available colleges and courses. Select your preferred options. It is advised to choose as many college choices as possible. This increases your chances of getting a seat, especially if your first few choices are not available.
  • Save Choices: After selecting your desired colleges and courses, make sure to save them. You can arrange your choices in order of preference, putting your most preferred options first.
  • Confirm and Lock Choices: This is a very important step. After selecting all your choices, candidates must confirm their selections. Once confirmed, you usually have the option to 'Lock Choices'. Locking choices means your selections are final and cannot be changed. If you do not lock your choices, the system might automatically lock them at the deadline, or they might not be considered for allotment.

Important Reminder for Choice Filling

Students must complete the choice filling and locking process before 4 PM today, October 16, 2025 . Choices submitted after this time will not be considered for Round 3 seat allotment.

Understanding Seat Allotment

After the choice filling window closes, the MCC will begin the process of seat allocation. The committee considers several factors when assigning seats to candidates. These factors include:

  • Filled Choices: The colleges and courses you have selected and locked are the primary basis for allotment.
  • Seat Availability: The number of seats remaining in each college and course after previous rounds.
  • NEET Rank: Your All India Rank (AIR) in the NEET UG exam plays a crucial role. Higher-ranked candidates generally have a better chance of getting their top choices.
  • Reservation Criteria: Government reservation policies for different categories (such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD) are strictly followed during the allotment process.

Candidates are strongly advised to complete all steps carefully and on time to avoid missing out on a medical or dental seat. Check the official MCC website regularly for further updates on the counselling process.
