The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented a two-tier security system involving the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to safeguard question papers for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21 . This measure follows the cancellation of the May 3 exam due to alleged paper leaks, affecting approximately 2.3 million students.

NEET UG Re-Test Security Measures

The IAF will transport question papers to examination centers, reducing delivery times. CAPF personnel, including the CRPF and CISF, will escort and guard papers from June 11 until the exam day. CAPF officers will also be present on IAF flights during transportation.

All armed CAPF personnel must surrender their firearms before boarding IAF flights. Weapons will be stored securely and returned upon arrival at their destination. This policy was confirmed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed a single point of contact within the CRPF and CISF. This individual will coordinate between all teams to ensure smooth operations.

Changes to the NEET UG Re-Test Format

The NTA has extended the exam duration by 15 minutes. The NEET UG re-test will now last 195 minutes , from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.

The question booklet now includes two additional pages for rough work. This provides students more space for calculations and notes.

Exam Logistics and Locations

The NEET UG re-test will be conducted in approximately 15 towns served by 'Leg-1' airports, including Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Guwahati. An additional 85 towns will be covered under 'Leg-2' operations.
