The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET UG exam fee refunds. Students can submit their bank details until July 14 , 11:50 pm. This applies to the NEET UG exam originally scheduled for May 3, 2026.
Refund Window Extension
The May 3 exam was postponed to June 21 due to a paper leak investigation. The NTA reopened the window for students to claim their exam fee refund. This extension aims to ensure all eligible candidates receive their money back.
Who Is Affected
Over 20 lakh candidates took the May 3 NEET UG exam. According to the NTA, only 1,028,233 students had submitted their bank details for the refund. The extended period allows more students to provide or correct their financial information.
How to Submit Bank Details
Students must visit the official NTA website at neet.nta.nic.in . On the homepage, locate and click the link for "Bank Account Details Confirmation / Updation." Users will then complete a two-factor authentication process. A new window will appear to enter bank account details. Submitting a cancelled cheque is recommended to confirm accuracy.
Exam Fee Structure
The NTA has provided a refund for the exam fee. The fee amount varied by category:
| Category | Fee Amount (INR) |
| General | 1,700 |
| General-EWS/OBC-NCL | 1,600 |
| SC/ST/PwBD | 1,000 |
| Outside India | 9,000 |
Official Statement
An official NTA notification dated July 7 stated the reason for the extension. "A large number of students are yet to update/confirm their bank account details," the notice read.
