The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET UG re-examination 2026 results on July 16, 2026. Two students achieved the top rank with 715 out of 720 marks.
Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 and AIR 2, respectively. This ranking was determined by a tie-breaking rule.
NEET UG 2026 Examination Overview
Nearly 20 lakh students took the exam. Of these, 11.21 lakh qualified.
A total of 19,99,895 candidates appeared. The number of qualified candidates was 11,21,185.
More female students participated than male students. 11,52,152 girls appeared. 6,54,049 girls qualified, representing 58 percent.
Male students numbered 8,47,732 participants. 4,67,134 males qualified.
Top Scorers Announced
Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal achieved the highest scores. Both scored 715 marks.
Uplakshya Goyal from Rajasthan and Ayush Bhalotia from Bihar followed. They secured subsequent ranks.
Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal were awarded AIR 1 and AIR 2 based on tie-breaker scores. Aryan studied through distance learning at Allen Career Institute. Panshul Bansal was a regular student at the same institute for two years.
Ayush Bhalotia, a classroom student, secured AIR 4 with 710 marks. Gaurav Singh achieved AIR 9.

Admission Process Begins
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will manage All India Quota (AIQ) admissions. State authorities will handle state quota seat admissions.
An official schedule from the MCC and state bodies will be released soon. Students can then register for MBBS/BDS programs.
