The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon declare the results for the NEET UG 2026 re-test. The exam was held on June 21 following the cancellation of the original test due to alleged paper leaks. The NTA stated the results will be released promptly. Over 20 lakh students registered for the NEET UG this year. This entrance exam is for admission to medical undergraduate programs in India.
Expected Topper Scores
Top NEET UG scores typically exceed 99 percentile. Based on previous years, the highest marks in the NEET UG 2026 re-test are expected to range from 686 to 720. This translates to a percentile of over 99 percent.
In 2024, 17 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720. The NEET UG 2025 top 10 rank holders scored between 675 and 686 out of 720. The slight decrease in the highest scores in 2025 may be attributed to a more challenging question paper. This year, all 180 questions were compulsory. Last year, students could skip 10 questions in Section B.
Most candidates can anticipate scores similar to 2025. The highest score is likely to be around 700. However, achieving a perfect score of 720 remains possible for some candidates, securing the All India Rank (AIR) 1.
