Telegram Ban Implemented
The government has temporarily banned Telegram in India from June 21 to June 22, 2026. This measure aims to prevent potential paper leaks during the re-examination. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued the restriction under Section 69A of the IT Act.
Telegram's message-editing feature is also disabled nationwide until June 30. This prevents the creation and spread of fake leak claims. Authorities warn that believing or spreading false leak information is a criminal offense.
