Candidates taking the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will receive an additional 15 minutes to complete their test. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the change on June 17, 2026 , to reduce candidate anxiety and potential errors.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Details
The re-examination is scheduled for June 21, 2026 . The total exam duration will now be 3 hours and 15 minutes. This extends the exam window to 195 minutes. The exam will take place between 2:00 PM and 5:15 PM.
This extended time aims to provide a buffer for necessary exam formalities. These include signing attendance sheets and other instructions from invigilators.
Logistical Improvements
Students will now receive double the number of rough sheets. This means candidates will be provided with four rough sheets instead of two. This change is intended to help students with calculations, especially for physics and chemistry sections.
The layout of the rough sheets within the question booklet has also been modified based on student feedback. This adjustment addresses the convenience of all students, including left-handed individuals. Rough sheets are no longer exclusively located at the very end of the booklet.
Rough Sheet Placement
The four rough sheets are now strategically placed. The first two rough sheets are at the very end of the booklet. The remaining two are located immediately after the initial instruction page.
These format changes apply to question booklets in all languages. This includes both English and regional language versions of the exam.
