The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more individuals in connection with the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. These arrests bring the total number of individuals apprehended to 13. The CBI identified one of the newly arrested suspects as Dr. Manoj Shirure, a doctor from Latur, Maharashtra.
Investigators allege Dr. Shirure provided leaked Chemistry questions to three students prior to the NEET UG 2026 exam. One of these students is reportedly the son of a coaching center owner already under scrutiny for the leak.
The CBI's investigation into the paper leak's scope and participants is ongoing. The agency has conducted searches at 49 locations nationwide. Seized items include documents, laptops, and mobile phones. These items are under examination for potential clues.
The CBI initiated its investigation on May 12, 2026 . This followed a complaint from the Department of Higher Education regarding irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 exam. The CBI formed dedicated teams to pursue the case.
