NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak: 2 More Arrested, Total Now 13

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two more individuals in connection with the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case. This brings the total number of arrests to 13. The CBI apprehended Dr. Manoj Shirure, a doctor from Latur, Maharashtra, and another individual in Pune. Authorities allege Dr. Shirure provided leaked Chemistry questions to three students prior to the exam. One of these students is reportedly the son of a coaching center owner already under investigation.

Ongoing Investigation

The CBI continues its investigation into the full scope of the paper leak conspiracy. The agency has conducted searches at 49 locations nationwide. During these searches, important documents, laptops, and mobile phones were seized. These items are currently under examination for potential clues.

Case Origins and Scope

The CBI initiated its investigation on May 12, 2026 , following a complaint from the Department of Higher Education regarding irregularities in the NEET UG 2026 exam. The agency formed special teams to probe the allegations.

Investigators have identified the source of the leaked questions. The leaked papers covered Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. These questions were distributed to several individuals before the examinations commenced. The 13 individuals arrested hail from various cities, including Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur, and Ahilyanagar. CBI teams are actively working to identify and apprehend all parties involved in the NEET UG paper leak.
