Six students filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding alleged discrepancies in their NEET UG 2026 OMR sheets. The National Testing Agency (NTA) uploaded scanned OMR sheets. The students claim the answers shown do not match their marked responses. The petition comes days before the NEET UG 2026 All India Quota counselling begins on August 5. The Supreme Court is already reviewing NEET 2026 issues, including a paper leak controversy.

Students Seek Urgent Hearing

The students requested an urgent hearing. They argue that these alleged mismatches could lower their scores. This could impact their chances of admission. Counselling starts soon.

Counsel Reports High Scores, NTA Inaction

The students' counsel stated all six petitioners scored over 600 marks. Even small errors could affect their ranks. This would harm their admission prospects. The students reported multiple attempts to resolve the issue with the NTA. Emails and visits to the NTA office yielded no resolution. One officer allegedly told them to approach the Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Agrees to List Case

A Supreme Court bench agreed to consider the matter. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said, "We will list it." The bench also includes Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohan.

Similar Cases in Other Courts

Other courts are also handling similar petitions. The Bombay High Court issued notice on a plea. This plea alleged a mismatch between expected and declared NEET scores. The Delhi High Court is hearing a case. A student in that case reported score changes on the NTA portal.
