The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official advisory detailing the dress code and items permitted at NEET UG 2026 examination centers. The exam is scheduled for May 3, 2026 . Students must adhere to these guidelines.
Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates must follow specific rules for exam day. These include regulations on water bottles, clothing, and footwear.
Permissible Items
Water Bottles: Only transparent water bottles are allowed. Clear bottles are mandatory for all candidates.
Articles of Faith: Religious items like a Kirpan or Kara are permitted. However, candidates wearing such items must arrive early for thorough security checks. This ensures a complete frisking process without impacting exam commencement.
Clothing and Footwear
Clothing: Light clothing is recommended. Candidates wearing full sleeves or warm clothing must also report early for security checks. This applies to any woolen garments needed for comfort.
Footwear: The NTA recommends slippers or low-heeled shoes. High heels are prohibited. Candidates should have their footwear ready before arriving at the center.
Arrival at Examination Centre
Candidates should plan to arrive at the examination center at least one hour before the gate closing time. This early arrival facilitates a smooth security check process. It helps prevent undue stress on exam day.
