The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) begins the NEET UG 2026 admission process for the 15% All India Quota seats on August 5, 2026 . Eligible candidates must register online to participate.
Registration and Choice Filling
The process involves three main stages: registration, choice filling, and choice locking. First, candidates access the official MCC counselling portal, mcc.nic.in. They then register using their email and mobile number. A verification code will be sent via OTP. Candidates must then enter personal, academic, and bank details. Scanned copies of required documents need to be uploaded. A registration fee is also required.
After registration, candidates fill out their preferred course and college choices. These choices should be ordered by preference. The choice filling window closes on a specified date. Candidates must lock their selections before this deadline. Unlocked choices will be automatically locked.
Seat Allotment
Seat allotment follows the choice locking stage. The MCC will assign seats based on NEET rank, seat availability, applicant numbers, and category. Results will be announced on the official portal.
Candidates check their allotment status by logging into the portal. They will receive an OTP for verification. Those allotted a seat must accept it and download a provisional allotment letter. Document verification and admission formalities occur at the allotted institute.
Students can opt to upgrade to the next counselling round when checking their allotment status. The Ministry of Health released a video explaining the counselling procedure. This video is available via a link on the official portal.
