The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule by the end of July 2026. This schedule will cover the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Students who passed the NEET UG re-test on June 21 are eligible to participate. Counselling for the remaining 85 percent state quota seats will be managed by individual state authorities.
NEET UG 2026 Counselling Timeline
The MCC's schedule release is anticipated in the last week of July 2026 . Registration for the first round of counselling is likely to begin in the first week of August 2026 . Results for this round are expected around August 20, 2026 .
Students who accept their seat allotment in Round 1 will need to report to their assigned college by the end of August 2026 . Subsequent rounds are scheduled as follows: Round 2 in mid-September 2026 , and Round 3 by September end . A counselling round for vacant seats will take place in October 2026 .

Candidates must prepare the following documents for counselling:
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
- NEET UG 2026 Scorecard/Rank Letter
- Class 10 Certificate and Marksheet
- Class 12 Certificate and Marksheet
- Proof of Identity (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, or Passport)
- Passport-size photographs (approximately eight)

Details on participating medical and dental colleges are available on the MCC website. Students can access this information via the official portal, mcc.nic.in. Navigate to the "Important Link" section and select "Participating Institute Details NEET UG 2026." Users can filter by institute type, including Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER. Specific information for B.Sc. Nursing institutes is also provided.
The NEET UG 2026 re-test result was declared on July 16, 2026. Out of approximately 20 lakh candidates who appeared, 11.21 lakh students passed the examination.
