Arrests Made in Paper Leak Investigation
The CBI apprehended three suspects in Jaipur. One suspect was arrested in Gurugram, and another in Nashik. These arrests are part of a nationwide investigation into the NEET UG 2026 paper leak.
Reports indicate the leaked paper was circulated as a "guess paper." This paper was allegedly sold to students for substantial sums of money.
Exam Cancellation and Re-test
The NTA cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam due to concerns about the integrity of the examination process. The agency cited multiple reports and findings suggesting the paper was leaked before the exam. Many questions reportedly matched the "guess paper.".
Approximately 23 lakh candidates across India are affected by this cancellation. The NTA will announce new dates for the re-examination soon.
Government Handover to CBI
The government transferred the paper leak matter to the CBI for a thorough investigation. The CBI's probe has uncovered links spanning multiple states. These states include Rajasthan, Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand.
Investigators are conducting raids and questioning suspects. The goal is to identify the masterminds behind the alleged leak operation.
