Nearly 20 lakh students appeared for the exam. Over 11.21 lakh students passed. Panshul Bansal, from Haryana, secured AIR 2. He scored 715 out of 720 marks. The rank was determined by a tie-breaking system.
Pradhan stated Bansal's success shows the dedication of young Indian minds. He posted this on X.com (formerly Twitter). Pradhan believes Bansal will significantly contribute to India's healthcare. He expressed confidence in Bansal's excellence and service.
NEET UG 2026 Highlights
Panshul Bansal shared advice for future candidates. He emphasized consistent, dedicated study for two years. Bansal achieved his AIR 2 rank through this approach. He told aspirants to give 100% effort.
Top Scorers
Aryan Gupta from Ludhiana secured AIR 1. He also scored 715 out of 720. Gupta aims to become an Oncologist. His mother died from stage 2 cancer. His grandmother also died from cancer.
Gupta mentioned studying 16-17 hours daily. He described his success as surreal. His family is happy about his achievement.
NEET UG Re-Test Analysis
Many students saw mark increases after the re-test. Some reported gains up to 15 marks. The AIR 4 holder achieved 715 marks. This was an increase from 695 marks on the main exam.
Admissions and Counselling
Students will now participate in counselling. This process is for admission to medical colleges. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) handles All India Quota (AIQ) seats. This accounts for 15% of MBBS/medical seats.
State authorities manage the remaining 85% of seats. These are under the state quota. State quotas reserve seats for residents of that state.
