The group shared a video of students protesting overnight on July 21.
Government Responds to Protests
Minister Pradhan accused the Congress party of using students as political tools. He criticized their actions during Parliament's Monsoon Session. Pradhan stated the government was ready for discussion. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that Congress chose "political spectacle over democratic debate." He added that the issue was not about students for Rahul Gandhi. Pradhan emphasized the government's commitment to accountability and reforms for students. He stated, "We owe our students more than outrage."
Opposition Leaders' Actions
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi held a sit-in protest on July 21. The protest occurred outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. Delhi Police removed the leaders from the site. Gandhi stated he met the Lok Sabha Speaker. He requested a debate on student issues. Gandhi said the Speaker indicated government permission was needed. He asserted the government showed no interest in debate. This led to their protest at the Prime Minister's house.
Protesters' Demands
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the CJP, stated the government must meet protesters at Jantar Mantar. He said, "We won't go now." CJP National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka outlined protesters' core demand. They demand no First Information Reports (FIRs) be filed against any protester. The protest will continue until this demand is met. On July 20, protesters attempted a "Sansad Chalo" march. Police used batons and tear gas during clashes.
