The **Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)** has once again changed the dates for **NEET PG Round 1 counselling**. This means medical students applying for postgraduate courses like **MD, MS, and MDS** have more time to choose their preferred colleges and courses. The new deadline for **choice filling** is **November 21, 2025**, until 12 Noon. The results for who gets which seat will now be announced on **November 22, 2025**.

This update is very important for thousands of young doctors across India. **NEET PG** is the main entrance exam for medical graduates to join specialised postgraduate medical courses. After clearing the exam, students go through a counselling process. In this process, they list their desired colleges and medical specialities in order of preference. This step is called "choice filling".

The original deadline for choice filling was **November 16, 2025**. However, due to delays in finalising the full counselling schedule, the MCC decided to extend this date. This is not the first time the schedule has changed, and these repeated delays have caused a lot of anger and worry among students.

New Dates for NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Counselling

Students should note down these important revised dates for the first round of counselling:

EventNew Date
Choice Filling and LockingNovember 20 and 21, 2025 (until 12 Noon on Nov 21)
Seat Allotment ResultNovember 22, 2025
Admission and Reporting to CollegesNovember 23 to December 1, 2025

Student Frustration Over Delays

The medical student community has reacted strongly to these repeated changes. Many students have used social media to express their frustration. They highlight that such frequent changes make it very hard to plan their lives and careers.

One student posted online, "**This delay shows a lack of planning by the MCC.** We made arrangements to report to colleges based on the original dates. Now everything is uncertain again." These sentiments are common among many aspirants. They often spend significant time and money on travel and accommodation to join their allotted colleges. Sudden changes force them to cancel and re-book, leading to extra costs and stress.

The problem becomes even bigger for students who are also participating in counselling rounds for state medical colleges. Each state has its own schedule. When the national counselling dates keep shifting, it creates clashes and confusion. Students struggle to manage both sets of deadlines and requirements, increasing their mental burden during an already stressful period.

What Students Need to Do Now

The **Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)** has advised that all candidates can revise their choices during this extended period. This means students can change their preference list of colleges and courses. This is particularly useful if there have been any updates, like new seats added or existing seats withdrawn from the counselling process. Students who wish to make changes must do so before **November 21, 2025**, 12 Noon.

Even if students have already filled and locked their choices, they can unlock them and make changes. After making any revisions, they must remember to lock their choices again before the new deadline. If choices are not locked, the last saved choices will be considered.

It is very important for all students to regularly visit the **official MCC website**. This is the best place to get the latest and most accurate information about the counselling process. Staying updated helps them avoid missing any crucial steps or deadlines in their journey to become specialist doctors.
