Reasons for the Date Change
The MCC decided to change the counselling schedule. Earlier, the Round 2 seat allotment result was planned for December 12, 2025 . However, the MCC extended the deadline for students to fill and lock their college choices. This extension happened twice because there were changes in the number of postgraduate medical seats. Some new seats were added, and some were removed across different medical colleges in India.
What is NEET PG Counselling?
NEET PG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate. It is a national-level exam for doctors who want to pursue higher studies like MD (Doctor of Medicine) or MS (Master of Surgery) in various medical specialities. Counselling is the process where eligible students choose their preferred medical colleges and courses based on their NEET PG scores. After students submit their choices, the MCC assigns them seats. This is called "seat allotment." Finally, students who get a seat must go to the allotted college to complete their admission formalities and secure their spot.
