The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has changed the schedule for NEET PG 2025 counselling. This change affects Round 2 and all later rounds of admissions for postgraduate medical courses. Students who passed the NEET PG exam and wish to join MD/MS/Diploma courses must note the new dates carefully. Registration for **Round 2** of counselling will now begin on **December 5, 2025**.
NEET PG is a national entrance exam for doctors who want to pursue higher studies in medicine, like becoming specialist doctors. The counselling process is how students choose their preferred medical colleges and get seats based on their exam scores and choices. The MCC manages this process for the All India Quota seats.
This is not the first time the schedule has been updated. Earlier, the registration for Round 2 was planned for November 2, and then for November 5. Now, the MCC has released a new, updated calendar for all upcoming rounds. All important dates, including registration, choice filling, seat results, and admission reporting, have been moved.

Understanding the Counselling Process
The counselling process for NEET PG admissions involves several steps:
- Registration: Students first need to register online on the MCC website. This involves filling in personal details and paying a fee.
- Choice Filling and Locking: After registering, students can choose the medical colleges and specialisations they want. They must arrange these choices in order of preference. Once they are sure, they need to 'lock' their choices.
- Seat Allotment Result: Based on their NEET PG rank, choices, and seat availability, the MCC allots a seat to each student. The result shows which college and course a student has been offered.
- Admission and Reporting: Students who get a seat must download their allotment letter. They then need to report to the allotted college within the given dates to complete admission formalities. This includes submitting documents and paying fees.
