The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE) 2026 registration process has begun. Students who wish to join hotel management courses across India must apply online. The last date to submit the application form for NCHMCT JEE 2026 is January 25, 2026. NCHMCT JEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To apply for NCHMCT JEE 2026, candidates need to meet specific educational requirements:
- Students must have passed their Class 12 (10+2) examination or an equivalent qualification.
- English must have been one of the subjects studied in Class 12. This can be core, elective, or functional English.
- Students who are currently appearing for their Class 12 examinations in 2026 can also apply.
- Admission for such students will be temporary. They must provide proof of passing Class 12 during the counselling or admission process.
- The final date to submit this proof is September 30, 2026.
- If a student's documents are not valid or not submitted by the deadline, their admission may be cancelled.
- All original certificates will be checked at the time of admission to ensure they are correct.
Exams Accepted as Class 12 (10+2) Equivalent
The following examinations are considered equal to Class 12 for NCHMCT JEE 2026 eligibility:
- Exams conducted by CBSE, CISCE, and all State Boards in India.
- Intermediate or Pre-University examinations.
- GCE Advanced Level (A Level) examinations.
- Cambridge High School Certificate.
- NIOS Senior Secondary examination, provided it includes at least five subjects, one of which must be English.
- Vocational examinations approved by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
- Any other examination officially approved by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) or the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
NCHMCT JEE 2026 Age Limit
As per the latest official information, there is no age limit for NCHMCT JEE 2026. Candidates of any age can apply as long as they fulfill the other eligibility conditions. This change in age criteria is in line with the New Education Policy.
NCHMCT JEE 2026 Physical Fitness Requirement
All candidates who are selected for admission must submit a medical fitness certificate. This certificate must be issued by a registered medical practitioner. It needs to confirm that the student is physically fit to perform the practical duties required in hotel management courses.
NCHMCT JEE 2026 Application Fee
The application process for NCHMCT JEE 2026 is only complete after the mandatory application fee is paid. Additional bank charges and Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be extra.

Reservation Policy for NCHMCT JEE 2026
The reservation rules set by the Central Government apply to institutes that are part of NCHMCT JEE.

Within each of these categories, there is also a 5% reservation for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates. To qualify, PwD candidates must have a disability of 40% or more. They must also be able to perform essential practical tasks required in hotel management, such as kitchen work, bakery work, service work, housekeeping tasks, and basic computer operations.
Additionally, one extra seat (supernumerary seat) is reserved in each Central Institute for Kashmiri Migrants and Kashmiri Pandits.
