Registration for the Navodaya Class 6 Admission 2027 is now open. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) began accepting applications on June 10, 2026 . Students aiming for admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the 2027-28 academic year must submit their applications online by July 31, 2026 . The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is scheduled for November 28, 2026 . Results are anticipated by the end of March 2027 .
Eligibility Requirements
Students currently in Class 5 during the 2026-27 academic session are eligible to apply. They must also meet age and domicile criteria. Applicants can only attempt the entrance test once. The exam is open to students who have completed Classes 3, 4, and 5 from a recognized school.
The age requirement specifies that applicants must be born between May 1, 2015 , and July 31, 2017 . Both dates are inclusive. Students who have already passed Class 5 or are repeating the grade are not eligible.
District Admission Rules
Candidates must apply for the JNV located within their home district. An exception exists for students whose schools are situated within 10 kilometers of their residence, even if the school is in a neighboring district. NVS will verify this eligibility during the admission process.
Applying to a JNV in an incorrect district will lead to application cancellation, even if a student receives provisional selection. Students must ensure they meet all district-specific requirements before applying.
