The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has recently sent an important notice to Al-Falah University , located in Faridabad . This notice is a serious warning for the university because it has been found displaying wrong information about its accreditation on its official website. NAAC, which is India’s main body for checking the quality of higher education institutions, stated that the university misled students and their parents with these false claims. This action by NAAC is happening while authorities are also looking into the university for its possible links to a major terror incident near Delhi’s Red Fort and the discovery of explosives in the Faridabad area.

Al-Falah University Made False Claims

NAAC’s notice clearly stated that Al-Falah University is currently not accredited by NAAC. Accreditation is a process where NAAC checks if a university or college meets certain quality standards. If it does, NAAC gives it a grade. However, Al-Falah University has not even applied for its first assessment cycle, which means it has never been graded by NAAC.

Despite this, the university’s website wrongly showed that some of its colleges had received an ‘A’ grade from NAAC. The colleges named were Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology , Brown Hill College of Engineering and Technology , and Al-Falah School of Education and Training . NAAC called this information "absolutely wrong and misleading." This kind of false information can trick students and their families who are looking for quality education, as well as other important groups connected to the university.

NAAC further pointed out that even if these colleges had any accreditation in the past, those accreditations had already expired. The university did not apply to renew them, which means their claims were outdated and incorrect.

NAAC Demands Explanation and Strong Action

NAAC has given Al-Falah University a strict deadline: it must provide an explanation within seven days . This explanation needs to clarify why NAAC should not take strong action against the university, including legal steps. Legal action could mean facing court cases or penalties.

Moreover, NAAC has warned of another serious consequence. It might recommend to other powerful government bodies to withdraw their recognition of the university’s study programmes. These bodies include the University Grants Commission (UGC) , which oversees universities; the National Medical Commission (NMC) , for medical education; the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) , for teacher training; the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) , for technical education; and the Haryana government , which is the state government where the university is located. Losing recognition from these bodies would mean that the degrees or courses offered by Al-Falah University would no longer be valid, causing huge problems for its students.

As an immediate step, the university has been told to remove all expired or false NAAC accreditation claims from its website and any other public advertisements or materials right away.

University Linked to Terror Investigation

The NAAC notice to Al-Falah University is not the only issue it is facing. This development comes as law enforcement agencies are deeply involved in investigating a serious terror incident. This incident occurred near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort . Separately, a large amount of explosives was discovered in the Faridabad region , which is where Al-Falah University is located.

Investigators have found direct connections between these terror-related incidents and the staff members, as well as the premises, of Al-Falah University . Several doctors who work at Al-Falah University have been detained and questioned by the police. They are being investigated for their suspected roles in a terror group believed to be connected to the Delhi blast. While the university has confirmed that these individuals were its employees, it has also stated that it has "no connection" with the accused beyond their employment. The investigation is ongoing to understand the full extent of these alleged links.
