The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is accepting applications for its 2026 internship program. The deadline to apply for the August-September session is June 10, 2026 . This program offers women students and professionals practical experience in government policy related to women and children.

Internships run in two-month batches throughout the year. Selected interns will engage in policy work, research, and field assignments. The program specifically encourages applications from women in non-tier-I cities and rural areas.

Program Details

The MWCD internship aims to provide exposure to government operations. It is particularly beneficial for individuals pursuing careers in social policy, public administration, gender studies, law, or development work. Participants may receive a stipend and hostel accommodation in Delhi upon selection. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the internship.

Application Process

Applications are submitted online. Candidates must visit the official MWCD internship portal. Registration requires basic personal and academic details. Applicants then log in to complete the application form, selecting their preferred internship batch. Required documents must be uploaded. All information should be reviewed before final submission.

The application window is open from the 1st to the 10th of each application month.

Eligibility Criteria

Only women candidates can apply for the MWCD internship. Applicants must be students, scholars, teachers, or social activists. They need to be enrolled in or associated with an academic or non-academic institution. A preference is given to candidates from non-tier-I cities and rural areas. Applicants from tier-I cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune are not eligible.

The age limit for applicants is between 21 and 40 years . Once selected, candidates are generally not eligible for subsequent internship terms.
