UNICEF India, NCERT, and Pratham Education Foundation collaborated on development. The cards are now available in Braille format . This makes career guidance more accessible.
Alignment with National Policies
This initiative aligns with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 . It also follows the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-SE 2023) . Both policies emphasize inclusive skilling. Early identification of special needs is also a focus.
Secretary Kumar stated a target for 2030. By then, every student finishing Class 12 should have at least one core skill. The Career Cards support this objective.
Teacher Training and Support
NCERT will develop training modules for regular teachers. This will be done with State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) and District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs).
