DigiLocker is Mandatory
The Maharashtra CET cell has made it a must for all students to use DigiLocker for MHT CET 2026 registration. Your DigiLocker account must have your APAAR ID and Aadhaar card . Without these, you will not be able to fill out the MHT CET registration form. Students should prepare their DigiLocker account and link these documents before applying.
How to Create a DigiLocker Account
If you do not have a DigiLocker account, follow these simple steps to create one:
- Go to the official DigiLocker website or download its mobile app.
- Choose the 'Sign Up' option.
- Enter your mobile number. Make sure this number is linked to your Aadhaar card.
- Verify your mobile number by entering the OTP (One-Time Password) you receive.
- Fill in your personal details exactly as they are on your Aadhaar card.
- Set up a six-digit security PIN . This PIN will be used to access your DigiLocker.
- Submit the registration form.
- Enter your Aadhaar number.
- Complete the Aadhaar verification using an OTP sent to your registered mobile number or through biometric authentication.
- Create a username to fully activate your DigiLocker account.
How to Link DigiLocker with MHT CET Registration
After creating your DigiLocker account, follow these steps to link it with your MHT CET 2026 registration:
- Visit the MHT CET registration website: cetcell.mahacet.org .
- Register by providing your name, email ID, and creating a password.
- Check your email inbox for a verification link and click on it to verify your email ID.
- Once your email is verified, you will be taken to the MHT CET registration screen.
- Click on the button that says 'Proceed to DigiLocker' .
- Enter your Aadhaar number and verify it with an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
- Then, enter your six-digit DigiLocker security PIN for verification.
- Your DigiLocker account will open.
- Make sure your APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card are already added to your DigiLocker. If not, add them first.
- Select your APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card from DigiLocker and click on 'verify' .
- This step will successfully connect your DigiLocker account to the MHT CET registration portal.
Students are advised to complete their DigiLocker setup and link their APAAR ID and Aadhaar card well before the application forms for their desired courses become available. This will ensure a smooth and quick application process for MHT CET 2026.
