Students taking the MHT CET 2026 exam for Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) on April 15, during the first shift, have reported an issue with a question. They claim that one math question had the same answer option listed four times, causing confusion during the test.
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell is conducting the MHT CET 2026 PCM exam from April 11 to April 20. The exam is held online in two sessions each day. The first session is from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the second is from 2 PM to 5 PM.
According to students who took the exam on April 15 in the morning shift, the problem with the math question made them unsure of the correct answer. This wasted their time and added stress to the exam, which has a strict time limit.
Some students guessed an answer, while many chose to leave the question blank. Now, students are worried if they will receive bonus marks for this error.
What Happens with Exam Errors?
If the exam authorities confirm this mistake, they will consider it when preparing the final answer key. The MHT CET Cell has a few options:
- All students who attempted the question might be given full marks for it.
- The question could be removed from the evaluation process entirely.
Students are now waiting for the provisional answer key. This key will allow them to see the specific question and raise an objection if they find any mistakes. There is usually a small fee for each objection raised.
The MHT CET exam is important for admission to engineering and pharmacy courses in Maharashtra. This incident highlights the need for careful checking of exam papers before they are given to students.
