What is NEET PG?
NEET PG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses. It is a very important exam for doctors who want to study further and specialize in medical fields like surgery, medicine, or other branches. After clearing the NEET PG exam, students go through a process called "counselling" or "seat allotment." In this process, based on their exam scores and choices, they are given a seat in a medical college for their chosen specialization.

What to do After Seeing Your Result (Physical Reporting)
If your name is on the list, it means you have been offered a seat in a college. To secure this seat, you must complete the physical reporting process at the allotted college. Here are the key details:
- Reporting Period: December 2 to December 6, 2025 .
- What to Carry: You must bring all your original documents . This includes your mark sheets, certificates, NEET PG admit card, result, and other necessary papers.
- Fees: You need to pay the college fees. This must be done through a Demand Draft (DD) or Cheque . Make sure you know the exact fee amount and how to make the payment before you go.
- Status Retention Form: You also need to submit a "status retention form." This form helps you confirm if you want to keep the seat you have been offered or if you want to participate in later rounds of counselling for a different seat.
Missing these dates or not submitting the required documents and fees will mean you lose your allotted seat.
Maharashtra NEET PG 2025 Round 2 Counselling
For candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1, or those who want to try for a different college or course, the second round of counselling will follow. Here is the schedule for Round 2:
| Event | Date |
| Release of Seat Matrix for Round 2 | December 15, 2025 |
| Choice Filling (Selecting Colleges/Courses) | Till December 17, 2025 |
| Round 2 Seat Allotment Result | December 19, 2025 |
The "seat matrix" shows the number of available seats in different colleges for various courses for that round. Candidates should check this carefully before filling their choices. "Choice filling" means students select their preferred colleges and courses online. The "allotment result" then shows which college and course they have been offered in Round 2 based on their choices and rank.
Keep checking the official CET Cell website for any new updates or changes in the schedule.
