Students applying for the MAH MCA CET 2026 exam are currently facing challenges with their online registration. The main reason for these difficulties is the new rule that makes both an Aadhaar ID and an APAAR ID mandatory. Many applicants find it hard to complete their forms because of these required identification documents.

The Maharashtra CET Cell , which conducts this entrance exam, has made these IDs compulsory for all registrations. Without successfully linking or authenticating these IDs, students cannot proceed with their application on the official CET portal. This situation is causing worry for many students who plan to pursue a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree in Maharashtra.

What is the MAH MCA CET Exam?

The MAH MCA CET is an important entrance examination for students who want to join a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course in colleges across Maharashtra. An MCA degree is a postgraduate program focused on computer science and its practical applications. Performance in this exam helps students get admission into various MCA programs offered by colleges in the state.

Why are Students Facing Problems with Registration?

Several issues are making it difficult for students to complete their MAH MCA CET 2026 registration:

  • Lack of Information: Many students are not aware that Aadhaar and APAAR IDs are now a must for registration. They only find out about this requirement when they begin filling out the application form.
  • Digilocker Verification Issues: Students are having trouble verifying their Aadhaar and APAAR IDs through the Digilocker platform. Digilocker is an online service where official documents can be stored and verified digitally.
  • CET Portal Blocking Progress: The official MAH MCA CET website prevents students from moving to the next steps of registration if their Aadhaar and APAAR IDs are not authenticated correctly.

Specific ID-Related Problems

  • Aadhaar Details Mismatch: A common problem is when details like the student's name, date of birth, or father's name on their Aadhaar card do not exactly match the details on their Class 10 certificate . For registration, all these details must be identical. If they are different, the application may face delays or might even be rejected.
  • Trouble Generating APAAR ID: The APAAR ID is a new, mandatory requirement. Many students cannot create their APAAR ID because their mobile phone number is not linked to their Aadhaar card. To generate an APAAR ID, an OTP (One Time Password) is sent to the mobile number registered with Aadhaar. If the number is not linked, students cannot receive the OTP and thus cannot create their APAAR ID.

Technical Glitches on the Portal

In addition to ID-related issues, some students are also reporting technical difficulties with the official CET portal:

  • Slow Website Loading: The website sometimes takes a long time to load pages.
  • Login Errors: Students are experiencing problems logging into their accounts.
  • Process Interruptions: The online registration process can sometimes stop unexpectedly, forcing students to restart.

What Students Should Do to Fix These Issues

To ensure a smooth MAH MCA CET 2026 registration, students should take the following steps without delay:

  1. Verify Aadhaar Details: Compare all details on your Aadhaar card (especially name, date of birth, and father's name) with your Class 10 certificate . Ensure they match perfectly.
  2. Correct Aadhaar Information: If any details on your Aadhaar card are wrong, immediately visit the official UIDAI portal or an Aadhaar enrolment centre to make corrections. Correcting Aadhaar details can take several days or weeks, so start this process as soon as possible.
  3. Link Mobile Number to Aadhaar: If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar card, visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre to get it linked. This step is crucial for receiving the OTP required to create your APAAR ID.
  4. Create APAAR ID: Once your mobile number is successfully linked to your Aadhaar, you can then easily generate your APAAR ID. The APAAR ID is a unique academic identity for students across India.
  5. Deal with Portal Glitches: If you face issues like slow loading or login errors on the CET portal, try using a different internet browser (like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) or a different device. You can also try completing your registration during off-peak hours when fewer people are using the website.

It is strongly advised that students address these ID verification and linking issues now, even before the main application period officially begins. Taking early action will help avoid last-minute pressure and ensure a hassle-free registration for MAH MCA CET 2026.
