Who Can Apply? Nationality and Domicile Rules
All applicants must be Indian citizens to be eligible for the MAH BEd CET 2026 . However, there are special rules for candidates who are not Indian citizens but wish to study in Maharashtra.
- Candidates who are NRI (Non-Resident Indian), OCI (Overseas Citizen of India), PIO (Person of Indian Origin), and Foreign Nationals do not need to take the CET exam. They can apply for admission directly through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
Maharashtra State Candidates
Candidates from Maharashtra State must meet certain domicile conditions. They are divided into different categories:

- Their degree must be recognised by UGC (University Grants Commission) or AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
- They must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in their degree, regardless of their category.
- OMS candidates must apply only under the Open Category .
Educational Qualifications
The academic requirements for MAH BEd CET 2026 depend on the degree stream and the category of the candidate. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised university.

Final Year Students
Students who are in their final year of graduation or post-graduation and are waiting for their results can also apply for MAH BEd CET 2026 . However, their admission is provisional. They must submit their final mark sheets and degree certificates at the time of admission to confirm their eligibility.
Other Important Points
English Language Content Test (ELCT)
Candidates who want to join English Medium BEd colleges must take the English Language Content Test (ELCT) along with the MAH BEd CET . It is important to select the ELCT option during the online application process. Once the application is submitted, requests to change this option will not be allowed.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit set for applying to the MAH BEd CET 2026 exam.
Reservation and Certificate Rules
Candidates applying under reserved categories in Maharashtra must provide valid documents to prove their claim. These include:
- A valid Caste Certificate .
- A Caste Validity Certificate .
- A Non-Creamy Layer Certificate , if applicable.
- An EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Certificate , if applicable for the EWS category.
If candidates do not have these valid documents, they should apply under the Open Category .
