The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will open four new schools in Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand for the 2026-27 academic session. These schools will offer Balvatika and primary classes. Admissions will open soon.
New Schools Approved
The new Kendriya Vidyalayas are KV Madan Negi in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand; KV Gool in Ramban, Jammu & Kashmir; KV No. 3 Darbhanga (AIIMS) in Bihar; and KV Shamli in Uttar Pradesh. Government approvals for these schools were issued in late 2024 and 2025.
Admissions and Classes
The Bihar and Uttar Pradesh schools will admit students to Balvatika I, II, and III, plus Classes I to V. Schools in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand will offer Classes I to V. Higher classes will be added later as infrastructure develops.
Temporary Campuses to Start
All four new KVs will initially operate from temporary locations. These could include existing government school buildings. Land has been allocated. Permanent infrastructure will be built over time.
Admission Timeline
Admissions for the new schools will start shortly. The process will conclude within 30 days after final approvals. This is separate from the general KVS admission cycle for 2026-27, which is already underway.
KVS Balvatika Admissions
Admissions to Balvatika and Class 1 are online. Selection uses a lottery system. No entrance exams are required. Children of central government employees have priority.

The KVS registration for Balvatika and Class 1 began in March 2026 . Provisional admission lists are released in multiple rounds. Offline admissions for higher classes depend on seat availability.
